Nine Generations of Venetian Tailoring

In 1702, Giovanni Ravazzolo — known as “Zuane” — began his tailoring work in Grumolo delle Abbadesse, a small town in the province of Vicenza in Italy’s Veneto region. What started as one man’s craft has been passed down through nine generations of the Ravazzolo family, each one preserving — rigorously and jealously — the techniques of the Venetian Tailoring School. By the early 1900s, Giuseppe Ravazzolo had established a proper workshop. In the 1950s, his son Giancarlo expanded distribution across northern Italy. By 1959, the workshop had grown into an industrial tailoring company, though “industrial” is a generous term — most phases of construction still involve hand processes with minimal machinery.

Today, every Ravazzolo garment is made in a single facility in Vicenza — 100% Made in Italy, start to finish. Each suit passes through at least six quality inspection stops during the manufacturing cycle. Between phases, fabric is allowed to rest for dimensional stability, ensuring the garment holds its shape through years of wear and seasonal weather changes. The brand’s coat of arms features crossed needles, symbolizing the craftsmanship and passion for tailoring that has defined the house for over three centuries. In recognition of this heritage, Italy’s Ministry of Economic Development awarded Ravazzolo the MISE Historical Brand designation — certifying it as emblematic of Made in Italy excellence.
