Retro Glamour, Modern Sparkle

In 2018, Ohad Seroya and Aviad Klin launched Retrofête from New York City with a simple premise: every woman deserves to feel like the life of the party. Seroya — born in Israel, where he fell in love with fashion working at a Diesel boutique in Tel Aviv at 16 — had spent years in wholesale and private-label manufacturing for contemporary ready-to-wear and luxury resort brands. It was Klin who pushed his husband to stop building other people’s labels and start their own. The name tells you everything: “retro” for vintage, “fête” for party. A brand born at the intersection of 1970s Studio 54 glamour and the unapologetic sparkle of modern nightlife.

What set Retrofête apart from the start was Seroya’s obsession with sequins — not as a gimmick, but as a medium. He plays with dimension, scale, and color in ways the industry hadn’t seen in the contemporary tier, treating every dress like a composition. The brand’s first collection landed immediately: within a year, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, and Gwyneth Paltrow were all photographed wearing Retrofête. Today the label is carried in over 700 retail locations worldwide, with flagship stores in SoHo and Miami’s Design District. Seroya describes his customer as “confident, sensual, and vivacious — the kind of woman who doesn’t walk into a room, she arrives.”

The Icon

The Gabrielle Wrap Dress

If Retrofête has a single signature, it’s the Gabrielle. A sequined mini wrap dress with velvet trim that became the brand’s calling card — now available in dozens of colorways, fabrications, and seasonal iterations. The silhouette is universally flattering: a deep V-neckline, a waist-defining tie, and a hem that hits just above the knee. It’s the dress that launched a thousand party entrances, equally at home at a cocktail hour, a holiday gala, or a New Year’s Eve celebration. Priced around $635, the Gabrielle sits in the sweet spot between contemporary and luxury — the kind of piece you reach for season after season.

The Collection

Sparkle, Silk & Celebration

01

Sequin Dresses

The house specialty. From the iconic Gabrielle wrap to floor-length gowns encrusted with hand-applied sequins — pieces that catch every light in the room. Seroya treats sequin dimension and color like a painter treats pigment, creating compositions that shimmer differently from every angle.

02

Crystal & Embellished

Beyond sequins: crystal-studded mesh dresses, beaded minis, and sheer fabrications that embody Seroya’s “naked but covered” aesthetic. These are the pieces that push the boundary between fashion and art — statement-making and conversation-starting.

03

Silk & Evening

Silk blazers, draped gowns, and slip dresses that carry Retrofête’s glamorous DNA into more refined territory. High-shine fabrics meet precision tailoring for pieces that move from dinner to dancing without a wardrobe change.

04

Bridal & Celebration

A capsule of sleek, celebratory white pieces designed for brides who want sparkle without convention. Rehearsal dinners, after-parties, and honeymoon dressing — for the bride who refuses to blend in.
