Born in Venice · Perfectly Imperfect
Golden Goose at Garmany
Founded 2000 · Venice, Italy
Life Is Not Perfect. We Inject Life.
On December 23, 2000, Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo — two designers in their early twenties who grew up in Marghera, the industrial port district of Venice — founded Golden Goose from a garage-turned-office. They started with artisanal, genderless garments. The sneaker line came in 2007, following a trip to Los Angeles where the founders became fascinated by the authentically worn-out look of the shoes on LA skateboarders. Back in Venice, they set out to recreate that aesthetic — deliberately, by hand, on Italian-crafted leather sneakers.
The result was a sneaker that looked lived-in from day one, and an entirely new product category was born: the luxury pre-distressed sneaker. Each pair is individually hand-sanded, scuffed, and aged by artisans, making no two pairs identical. The brand’s motto captures the philosophy: “Life is not perfect. We inject life into what we do.” The Super-Star — with its iconic star patch — has become a genuine cultural symbol of effortless-seeming luxury. Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Hailey Bieber, and Chris Hemsworth have all been photographed in Golden Goose. The tension between the concept (anti-perfection, skate-inspired) and the price point ($595+) is itself the brand’s most powerful idea: Venetian craft heritage applied to an American streetwear aesthetic.
The Collection
Stars, Scuffs & Soul
The Super-Star
The icon. The star-patch sneaker that started a movement — available in classic white leather, glitter, suede, and seasonal colorways. Each pair hand-distressed for a unique vintage character. The most recognizable luxury sneaker silhouette in the world.
Ball Star & Pure Star
Variations on the theme. The Ball Star adds a basketball-inspired higher profile; the Pure Star strips the design to its cleanest expression. Same Italian craftsmanship, same hand-finishing, different personalities.
Stardan & Limited Editions
The Stardan brings a chunkier, sportier silhouette. Limited editions and collaborations push the boundaries with Swarovski crystals, croc-print leather, and pony skin — collectible pieces that blur the line between sneaker and art.
Men’s & Women’s
Every Golden Goose style is available for both men and women — a genuinely unisex brand from day one. The same hand-distressing, the same Italian leather, the same commitment to imperfection across the entire range.
"Golden Goose combines casual cool with sophisticated style. The perfect blend of high-end fashion and everyday comfort, making them a favorite for men and women alike."
