Chicago Market Recap: A Season of Intention
There is a certain rhythm to market season. The early flights. The Vendor appointments. The familiar faces waiting just beyond the garment racks. Chicago once again delivered all of it—and more.
Our recent buying trip to Chicago was as productive as it was energizing. These markets are never simply about placing orders; they are about connection. We had a blast reconnecting with old friends and fellow retailers from across the United States, conversations that stretch beyond product and into perspective. Sharing insights, discussing shifts in client preferences, and exchanging ideas about where luxury is headed always sharpens our own point of view.

This season, Johnell was joined by members of our extended Garmany family: Shae Marcus and Monica DelliSanti from our marketing team, along with Jeff from our sales team. Having multiple lenses in the room, from buying to client experience to storytelling, ensures that what we bring back to Red Bank is not only beautiful, but meaningful. Every collection is considered through one filter: will this serve our clients not just next season, but for years to come.
The energy in Chicago felt optimistic. Designers are leaning into texture, refinement, and ease, pieces that balance structure with movement. We spent time with brands that continue to define modern luxury while evolving thoughtfully.
Les Deux impressed with its confident blend of European tailoring and contemporary casualwear—clean lines softened by wearable proportions. Wax delivered understated versatility, pieces that layer effortlessly into a well-built wardrobe without chasing noise. Colombo reminded us why heritage matters; their mastery of fabric remains unmatched, with materials that speak before you do. And MooRer continues to refine outerwear into something architectural yet effortless—technical precision wrapped in quiet elegance.
Beyond these highlights, there are several additions and refinements we are genuinely excited about. What stood out most was not excess, but intention. Collections felt focused. Purposeful. Designed for men who value quality over quantity.

As always, Johnell approached each appointment with a clear understanding of the Garmany client. He considers how a sport coat will live in a closet next to trusted favorites. How a knit will travel. How an outer layer will transition from city to shore. Buying is never about filling racks. It is about curating a wardrobe that feels cohesive, elevated, and distinctly personal.
Chicago reminded us why we love what we do. The relationships. The craftsmanship. The shared pursuit of excellence.
Stay tuned as we begin to reveal what Johnell hand-picked for next Fall/Winter. The pieces are thoughtful. The fabrics are exceptional. And the season ahead is shaping up to be one worth waiting for.
