Patriots vs. Rams was the lowest-scoring (most boring?) Super Bowl of all time

Typically “boring” isn’t a word used to describe the most-watched sporting event of the year, but that’s how critics and sports fans are dubbing Super Bowl LIII, where the New England Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams at just 13-3. It was boring because the score was never close, defense was terrible and because the Patriots won for the sixth time. Yeah, none of these things exactly make for new and exciting sports-viewing.

And adding to its uneventfulness? Super Bowl 53 also happened to be the lowest-scoring Super Bowl in NFL history. Before the 2019 game, the lowest-scoring Super Bowl was in 1973, when the Miami Dolphins defeated the Washington Redskins with a score of just 14–7, according to SI.com.

It wasn’t even just the football this year, though. Viewers were also hating on Maroon 5’s lackluster Halftime show, and some weren’t impressed by the commercials either. So yeah, we’d say Super Bowl LIII was a wash.
