Garmany Heads to Italy: SS26 Buying Trip at Pitti Uomo and Milan Showrooms
Every season, the journey to curate the perfect Garmany collection takes us to the heart of men’s fashion—and this June was no exception. Johnell Garmany and our Marketing Coordinator Monica Delli Santi, traveled to Florence and Milan to scout the finest pieces for Spring/Summer 2026. From the vibrant energy of Pitti Uomo to the elegance of Milanese showrooms, it was a whirlwind of style, craftsmanship, and memorable moments.
Pitti Uomo: Florence in Full Swing
Pitti Uomo is more than a trade show—it’s the epicenter of global menswear. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, this season’s edition brought an electric mix of heritage tailoring, forward-thinking design, and emerging talent. We were thrilled to discover new lines, reconnect with longtime partners, and uncover standout pieces that will soon be part of Garmany’s SS26 collection. Think innovative layering pieces, lightweight knits, and effortlessly cool separates.
Between appointments, we carved out time to enjoy a few of Florence’s now-viral gems. A must-stop was La Schiacciata, where the line stretched down the block—but was absolutely worth the wait. Their signature Florentine sandwiches were the perfect fuel between showroom visits. And of course, no trip to Florence would be complete without a visit to Gilli, where we ended the day with our favorite espresso martinis under the Tuscan evening sky.
Another highlight? A visit to Giacosa Café, the birthplace of the Negroni, for an iconic aperitivo moment that deserved its own post—equal parts bold, bitter, and beautifully balanced. Sometimes fashion inspiration comes with a slice of orange and a perfectly stirred cocktail.
The show was also a great time to catch up with retail friends from across the country. We ran into the teams from Hubbard’s, John Craig, Damiani, Mr. Sid, Raleigh Ltd, and others—each adding their unique flair to the American menswear scene. Swapping notes and sharing laughs reminded us just how tight-knit and collaborative this industry really is.
Milan: A Deeper Dive into Craftsmanship
After Florence, we headed to Milan to continue our buying journey. Showroom visits gave us a closer look at the collections from some of our most trusted brands. We were particularly excited to visit Zegna—not just for their beautifully tailored offerings, but for the unforgettable experience they curated for us.
Zegna took us on a journey beyond fashion, to their historic textile mills in Trivero. There, we saw firsthand the innovation and sustainability at the core of their production process. From fiber to fabric, every detail is handled with care and integrity. The highlight? Touring Casa Zegna, the brand’s cultural center, museum, and living tribute to their rich heritage.
Italian Hospitality: Style Meets Celebration
Of course, no buying trip to Italy would be complete without a few unforgettable meals. We had the pleasure of dining with several brands such as Sartorio, Marco Pescarolo and Gran Sasso to name a few. Enjoying incredible food, wine, and conversation about the future of Italian tailoring.
After a packed week of inspiration, connection, and style scouting, we’re excited to bring the best of Italy back to Garmany. The Spring/Summer 2026 season is shaping up to be one of our most refined and globally inspired collections yet.
Stay tuned—we can’t wait to show you what we found.
