You subscribe to movies, cell service and tunes—why not cars?
BMW, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Cadillac, Audi and Volvo are among those offering a new service which covers car payments as well as maintenance, roadside assistance and even insurance.
The subscription, which can run as high as $3,700 a month, gives you access to fully-equipped models of your choice and is being offered in major metropolitan areas, like LA, San Francisco, Atlanta and New York, as well as cities in the South and Midwest.
The selling point is the ability to “flip” in and out of cars with short notice. Some plans allow to drive a sedan during the week and then change to a concierge-delivered SUV or sports car a weekend getaway.
It’s a new way car manufacturers are trying to grab the attention of potential customers – especially Generation Z. A recent study by J.D. Power and Acxiom found 53 percent of Gen Z responders interested in subscription cars.
Before you hit the road in your new car—whatever it may be this week, get some road-worthy fashions from Garmany, and don’t forget the sunglasses for that movie star look as you cruise the highway.
